National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS)
A vital weather satellite program that is being jointly developed by NOAA, DOD, and NASA that is billions of dollars over budget and several years behind schedule

On June 7, 2007 the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment held a hearing to review the status of NPOESS and were told that the program is back on schedule, in large part due to aggressive oversight during the 109th Congress.
